H.O.T. & g.o.d.

Even if were not part of that era, most of us K-POP fans have heard of this two legends; without them there's a huge possibility K-POP would not be what it's today (sexy oppas included). Commemorating g.o.d.'s comeback after 8 years here's a overview of what I think are the best representatives of 1st-generation Idols (no offense Shinwha, S.E.S, Fin.K.L and Seo Taiji fans...).

H.O.T:

Createad in: 1996
Label: SM Entertainment
Disbanded: 2001
Their name means: High- five Of Teenagers.
Members: Moon HeeJoon (leader), Kangta, Tony An, Lee JaeWon (maknae), Jang Woohyuk.
Fan club name: White Angels.
Color: White.
Debut song: Warrior Descendants.
Most famous song: Candy.
Last song released: A Song For Lady

If you watched Reply 1997 you would know how much Shiwon loved H.O.T., specially Tony; her dream was to become his wife! The five-member group, created in 1996 by SM Entertainment, began a new era in korean music industry: the idol groups, they even influenced the creation of female idol groups in their country. H.O.T. genres were very varied, from rap to ballads and even rock.
I love the facts that their songs had meaning and purpose: they talk about society, focusing on youth.

-They were the first group to fill the Seoul Olympic Stadium.
-After separating, KangTa and HeeJoon stayed with SM, while JaeWon, Tony and Woohyuk   formed   "J.T.L" (reminds me of TVXQ and JYJ).
-They were called "Nation's Little Brothers".
-They were the first K-group to debut in China.
-They composed most of their own songs.
-They were the first group to include "drama versions" in their MVs.
 - HeeJoon and Woohyuk did all the coregraphies.
-In 2012, several members said the possibility of coming back together was really small.

g.o.d.:

Createad in: 1999
Label: JYP Entertainment
Disbanded: 2006
Their name means: Groove Over Dose.
Members: Park JoonHyung (leader), Yoon KyeSang, Danny Ahn, Son HoYoung, Kim TaeWoo.
Fan club name: Fan god.
Color: Sky blue.
Debut song: To My Mother.
Most famous song: Lies.
Last song released: 2♡
Came back in 2014 with Ugly Ducking.

G.o.d. is one of the few K-POP groups or artists that have sold more than a million copies with one of their albums, actually they did it with two: "Chapter 3 Lies"  that has 1824278+ copies sold, and "Chapter 4 Road" with 1713056+ albums sold according to Wikipedia. They achieved an all-kill with their new single Ugly Ducking after eight years without any new singles; they did this for their 15th anniversary activities.

 - They use their acronym in lowercase to avoid confusions with God.
 - Actor Jang Hyuk appeared in the MV of "To My Mother".
 - They won 5 Daesang.
 - They perfomed at the 2012 Korean Music Festival in L.A (without Park YooHyung).
 - MBLAQ's Mir is a huge fan of them.

2014's Newbies

2014 has been- so far and in my opinion- a better year in K-POP tan 2013. There had been a lot of debuts lately, so in case you're still lost about the new faces of the idol neighborhood I'm here to introduce the most promising ones to you!

JJCC (Double JC):

Known as Jackie Chan's group, they debuted on March 24 with their song "At First". JJCC means "Jackie Chan Joins Cultures". The 5 members are: Simba (the leader, born in South Korea), San Cheong (from South Korea), E.co (also from S.K.), Prince Mak (born in Australia with Chinese parents) and Eddy (born in Los Angeles with Korean parents).

High4:

This guys are lucky! I mean which group got IU to write, feat and appear on their debut song? High4 did with their single "Not Spring, Love, Or Cherry Blossoms". The song got into several music charts top 10s and their music video got a million views 3 days after being released! The 4 members are all from South Korea and their names are: Sung Gu (the leader), Alex, Myung Han and Young Jun.

AKMU (Akdong Musician):

I feel like AKMU has been around in the K-POP world since forever and that we can't call them "rookies" anymore. The two siblings (Lee Chan Hyuk and Lee Soo Hyun) got the right lottery ticket after winning K-POP Star 2 and signing with one of the three big agencies in South Korea: YG Entertainment ( Having BigBang and 2NE1 as sunbaes must be awesome!). Even if they didn't officially debuted until April 13, 2014 they have already released several songs before composed by Chan Hyuk. For their debut, so far, they have released 3 singles (200%, Melted and Give Love) and I could stay here all day writing how amazing they are at composing and singing, giving songs and unique sound, etc., but I must control myself and let you judge by yourselves.

GOT7:

And for last, but not least, my bias list wreckers: GOT7! Labeled as the "second 2PM" the guys debuted on January 15, with "Girls Girls Girls" (written and composed by Park Jin Young). Although I would have prefered another song of their álbum to be the single ( for example: Like Oh, I Like You...), the song has the legendary, former Wonder Girl, Sohee's "Omona" so I think that was one of the facts that made JYP chose it, besides it can show the boys' skills with their unique "martial arts" concept. I liked JJ Project before, but then I saw Mark's picture and fell for him, but then I saw Jackson's moves on their video but now my crush is on Jr. (his name is Park Jin Young too x.x).
There are 4 korean members: JB (the leader), Jr., Youngjae and Yugyeom (the maknae); and 3 foreign members: Bam Bam from Thailand, Jackson from Hong Kong and Mark is an Taiwanese-American.
